Major Pumping (1st away) Appliances:
These pumps are know as 1st away they are called this because they would be the 1st appliance away to any shout, there is a 1st away in every station in cornwall and these appliances will be called to any incident that happenes this could be to a fire, car crash, animal rescue or mine rescue. And the 1st away has all the necessary equipment to deal with these emergencys.
The 1st away has a 1850L first Aid tank which is mounted in the back of the appliance.
Below is a basic list of equipment which is carried by the 1st away:
1x Crash Rescue equipment set
6x Breathing Apparatus sets
2x Hosereels (1 on either side)
Numerous leghts of 75mm hose
1x Light Weight Pump
1x Possitive Pressure Fan
1x Medicial Kit
1x Thermal Imaging Camera
1x Small Tools kit
This is just a small list of items they carry there is much, much more, too many to list

Mercedes 1124 (12 in the Brigade)
Mercedes 1120 (12 in the Brigade)
Mercesed Atego (23 in the Brigade)

Light 4x4 Appliance (L4P)
These appliance are based on all 4x4 vehicle chassis and are designed to be able to go off road, the appliances could be called to support the major appliance with a fire that is difficult to reach, this could be because in is in a muddy field in which the major appliance could get stuck or down a country lane in which the major appliance could fit down.
The Light 4x4 appliance does not carry any crash rescue equpment as it is not designed to go to these incidents un- supported, 3 of the 4x4 appliance are used as Co-Responder unit which are based in Helston, St.Kervern and Mullion and carry first aid and oxygen equipment.
The Light 4x4 appliance carrys a light weight pump as its main pump which is mounted in the back of the appliance, this surplys water to either a hosereel (on some models) or 75mm hoses on the rest.
