The crews were mobilised to reports of a container leaking its hazadous chemical whilst it was being transported, when the crews arrived firefighters rigged in BA and wearing protective gloves placed the ruptured container into a overdrum where it was safely contained untill it was removed by a contractor. a small spliiage was dilled with using granuals designed to soak up chemical spill these where also placed in the overdrum.

The crew were mobilised to reports of a tractor leaking large amounts of fuel on the A39 by the roundabout, the road was then closed to enable Cormac to clean the road. Due to the scale of the leak one of the Crash Tenders from RNAS culdrose was called in and used the water turret to was down the road, before they done this the crew from Falmouth placed dammit mats over drains to stop contaminated water from entering into the drains. when this was completed the crew from Falmouth proceeded up the road to where the tractor was, they then placed more dammit mats on the tractor to stop the leak. The crew then escorted the tractor to its destination.

Details
The fire control at Truro recived over 60 calls of concerned members of the public about a range of industrial and commercial shops measuring approx. 60x15 Metres to be on fire.
When the crews arrived 2 people had already escaped from the fire and suffered from smoke inhalation so a ambalace was requested a one of the people was taken to hospital. Firefighters wearing BA started to use 5 jet to try and bring the fire under control, Also the 2 Aerial Ladder Platforms were set up to fight the fire from above, the Command Unit was also set up as the main control point, with the Opperational Surport units supporting it.
As the fire was so big a constant water surply had to be set up, the nearesst surply was from the river behind the shops. The high volume pumping unit was then set up next to the river and firefighters started to set it up, because the firefighers were working so close to the water the RNLI's inshore lifeboat from falmouth was launched to provide water safty cover on the river. the pump was then set up and so a constant water surply was provided.
At 4:00am The fire has now been brought under control and some of the crews are returning to their home stations a investigation is now under way into the cause of the fire.
At 6:00am
The crews are still damping down the building to make sure the fire is out and to stop it from relighting, The ALP from truro along with the Command Unit and the OSV from St.Austell still remain at the scene, 1 pump from St.Austell and 1 pump from St.Dennis have arrived as relief for Falmouth who have now returned to their station.
Commercial Road was closed for some time untill the fire was fully out and the road was cleared.

The crews from newquay stood by as they knew that the stronge winds could push the high tide waves over the wall and into the town, as the high tide approached the high winds sent waves rushing up the road and into the town, this the flooded 1 pub, 1 cafe, 1 doctors/chemist and several Houses. the 2 crews from perranporth set up the pump and used hard suction hoses to start to pump out the water.
At about 8:00pm other pumps were sent from newquay and assisted the crews from Perranporth with the pumping, The High Volume Pump wa requested from Newquay and when it arrived the crews set it up and quickly started to pump the water away at a great rate. at about 9:45pm the HVPU had completed the job of pumping out the flood water on the road and the major pumps then started to pump out the cellar of the pub and the rest of the effected propertys, and at about midnight the crews had finished and returned to stations.

Cornwall Fire brigade is on stanby for any incidents like flooding that may arrise. All the emergency services have had a briefing about the weather and a controll room has been set up a the Brigade HQ where the incident will be monitered by the Cornwall County Council emergeny planing authority.
2 Other fire rescue boats have been drafted in from Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade and one from Wiltshire fire brigade, the Cornwall fire brigade's boat will also be standing by at Falmouth, another high volume pump has been brought in from Warwickshire fire brigade to join the other 2 at Newquay.
It is advised that all people that this might effect should tune in to local weater reports and radio to get the lastest updates, it is also advised that you should check out the Met Office for updates
