The brigade was called at 17minutes past 12 this morning with reports of a hotel on fire crews from newquay were first on the scene and the fire was well alight, many other fire appliance were brought in from all other the county and a Turntable ladder believed to be from crownhill in Devon.
The fire was believed to start on the first floor and quickly worked its way up all four floors 1 person has been confirmed dead and 6 people are still missing but the fire brigade don’t know if they are in the rubble or if they never booked in.
The Crews used Jets, Hosereels and BA to tackle the blaze but had to fight the fire at a safe distance as the building became very unsafe and then collapsed.
The Fire was under control at 3:40 this morning and a fire investigation is under way but is being delayed due to the building being unsafe
Over 25 appliances attended the incident whith officers from all over the county.

2 Out of the 4 people who were missing have come forward and are alive, but there are still 2 people missing.
The hotel walls have been nocked down as they were very unstable and this now means that the police and fire brigade can now go in a look through the rubble to see how the fire was started and also if there is anyone trapped in the rubble

The Investigation into the fire at the hotel has now finished and the police have come to the conclusion that it was Arson and that the fire started by a naked flame, This is now a murder investigation as 3 people were tragicly killed.
A reconstruction of the fire was featured on yesterday nights crimewatch and the police are applealing for witnesses
